These are plants that love to have their feet wet but do not enjoy their foliage being submerged in water. Many of the aquatic plants that do well in emersed setups work well as marginal plants. 

Marginal plants can add dramatic effect to a paludarium or shallower section of an aquarium.

Most marginal plants are easy to care for requiring low to medium light and no co2. Humidity will need to be between 75% and 100% with temperatures around 75F being desired.
