can be found growing in streams and rivers through out central & western Africa. Prefering to grow in shady locations, it was named after the Egyptian god of the after life. 

With thick stems and broad durable leave, Anubias has become a staple in the aquarium hobby. Due to it's natural growth habitat Anubias will happily grow in a humid emersed setup such as a vivarium. 

 

Anubias is an easy aquarium plant to grow and does well in low to medium light setups. Anubias grows via a large rhizome that can be easily attached  to stone , wood or other hardscapes via gel super glue or string. When planting Anubias Do Not bury the rhizome and Only bury the roots.
